People keep saying it’s cheaper to holiday abroad than in the UK, but is it really? We booked this caravan just 2 weeks before our August trip, right in peak season. There were different accommodation options; Bronze, Silver, Gold and others. We went for the Gold option, which was £669 for 4 nights/5 days. And yes, there were more expensive options too. Now, of course, you still have to factor in your transportation/fuel, food, activities and whatever else you choose to spend money on while you’re there. But one thing I loved was that most of the kids’ activities were included with the holiday, so you already had access to plenty of things to do without paying extra. And the beach was literally right there! By the time we added everything up, our trip was around £1,000 or just a little over. And honestly, I feel like it could have been even cheaper if we’d booked months earlier instead of leaving it until two weeks before. For context, I actually checked some holidays abroad for a family of five around the same August period, and what I was seeing was over £2,000. So can we really say a family holiday abroad is always cheaper? I’m definitely not saying the UK is cheaper for every destination or every family. But I’m saying you don’t have to go abroad to have a proper holiday. Sometimes, a UK holiday can give you the experience you’re looking for without the flights, passports and extra logistics and you can still have so much fun. And there are honestly so many beautiful holiday destinations to explore in the UK. We’re only just getting started! So if you’re not ready to travel abroad yet, don’t let anyone make you feel like you’re missing out. You can still have an amazing, memorable and budget-friendly holiday right here in the UK.
