I have to put a zip up sleeper that has a snap too, on backwards. My daughter can even get her cloth diaper off, if I don’t do this.

I had to put my son’s diaper on backwards and use drawstring shorts/pants so he couldn’t pull them down on his own at night.

depending on how determined Indy is- you could try putting his cloth diaper on backwards so the snaps are in the back!
