I wrote a paper about this in college. Not the plume thing, but the argument that each party is responsible for the lowering and lifting as needed.

all lods down at all times unless in use. I will not have human waste sprayed onto my toothbrush or towels or face wash during flushing

Been in sniper school for 40 years and haven’t raised the seat in 30. IF there’s a misfire, I just clean the seat.
