so I just found out (w my machine) that big rubber piece all around the inside between door&drum is the gasket. that rubs on the metal under 1/2

I remember this happened when I was pretty young. Old machines. A part burnt out and caused it. The firefighters were nice, lol

I think it's a bit overloaded. you don't want to overload it because then the clothes can't wash properly. plus it puts wear on the machine. 😳
