just for future reference knives shouldn't really go in the dishwasher as it makes them duller faster. but glad that she smelled it was burning. happy

be careful with kids cups that have straws that come out of the hole. They will get stuck there as well.

Oh that’s an awful thing! I try so hard to make everything secure. Husband will just throw stuff in there and I’m all NOOO!!!!

We've burned dishes in the dishwasher before too! And the smell lingered EVERY TIME we washed dishes for almost 3 months after that.

I don’t use the heat setting either. I just pull the racks when it’s done and let them air dry.
