Before I had a full time office manager I was hopeless at invoicing and even more hopeless with following up on outstanding payments. I’d send an invoice 2 days after a clean and then 3 weeks later realise it had never been paid. Whose fault was that? 100% it was on me. I never made a social media post telling all my clients off for it. Now: our policy is to reconcile and chase up outstanding payments every single Wednesday morning, so we never get to this point. That’s my advice to you: implement a system that ensures you never lose your grip and explode. The 2nd relates to last minute cancellations, and how I never want you to attempt to guilt trip your clients into considering your livelihood before they cancel their clean. Guilt tripping is a form of manipulation, and a toxic trait. Don’t do that.
