I twist them gently untill the peel cracks and then they come off easy. This works because the garlic more flexible than the peel.

I put mine in a mason jar then gently shake. Peels come right off. 🧄 😁

It's much easier/faster to just shake them inside a jar with a lid. Skin comes right off.

Works well with shallot as well! Dont have to use boling water but when u dont need to soak it a bit longer
