1) ya’ll there is no way you’re sleeping in a bed with shoes 2) broken glass, hot surfaces, inclimate external weather, etc = shoes on for emergency

I also wear cotton clothes on flights because polyester is far more flammable. Keep the shoes on, wear less-flammable fabrics!
