It’s not the max IV dose but the thing about IV is it works fast but duration is short. Subcut works a little slower and lasts a bit longer 🤌🏼

the max is whatever the patient requires....deadly dose pffttt. You should have what you need to control your pain. IV morph is not given on the ward

Most wards can’t give IV, you’re getting S/C. Very safe and effective. Even if it was IV, still not a dangerous dose (ER physician).

wards aren't allowed to give IV unfortunately. If pain isn't controlled you can ask for a PCA and you press a button every so often and get a dose

When my husband went to Hospice, they gave him his meds Sub-Q (like your tummy) The meds seemed to work faster & was less painful than an IV

Someone doesn’t know max daily dosing. MS is 20mg/day after which caution is advised. Dose dependent on pt stability.

no I'm a medic I've given 40 mg at once...a 450 lb pt with a severe broken leg and hip. so his weight dictated the dosage.

That’s a subcutaneous catheter, they usually can stay in site for longer than an intravenous cannula. But yours looks inflamed, make sure a nurse

There is only so many mls that can go into a subcutaneous lock, usually it’s 2mls. I hope you have other sites for the extra mls. And legally (1/2)

10 mg is small dose. Subcutaneous syringe driver should work for you if it’s the right dose and drug. The site tho needs changing , it’s red. Get well
