Inheritance was a known phenomenon in Darwin’s time. The main objection is the same objection today and it has nothing to do with evidence and everything to do with religious dogma and human arrogance

Darwin was believed by the public since he had observable analysis. Mendel just further backed his analysis. Darwin’s 2nd book led to rise of Eugenics
