Stick framers are a dying breed most the guys today can only do trusses. Hard to find good guys.

you plumb cut would be to steep. You would need to raise the the rafter tail up the same as the hip at the plate then scribe

Just cut the plumb cut with the saw set at 45. It will give you the right edge angle on the jack rafter
