On Saturday, I had a couple of brandy drinks and suddenly felt like I couldn’t keep my balance. I wasn’t staggering. It just felt like suddenly. The floor wasn’t beneath me or something. I felt fine, I wasn’t slurring my words or anything like that. All I noticed was some balance issues and that my memory my short-term memory was destroyed. I couldn’t remember putting something in the microwave 30 seconds later. And then that night I woke up with really burning heartburn and waves of anxiety, and I was extremely tired all the next day and had a headache. This is not how I want to live my life. There’s nothing I can do about a progressive cognitive decline, which is probably early onset dementia, but there are plenty of things I can do to help myself and improve my quality of life. Will I be perfect at this unlikely. If there’s a special occasion and we go out and I have a glass of wine, I don’t think that’s a big deal as long as I only have one glass of wine. I’m not the type of person that once I start drinking I can’t stop. But I know that I have to stop drinking right now to improve my overall health for all kinds of reasons. #sober @Alzheimer’s Association #mildcognitiveimpairment #youngonsetdementia
