Viggo Mortensen didn’t just play Aragorn He also contributed musically to The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. He composed a melody for Aragorn’s coronation poem, the Elvish verse Aragorn sings after being crowned king. The lyrics come directly from Tolkien, but the tune itself was created by Mortensen, who recorded a rough version on set. Howard Shore later adapted and orchestrated that melody for the final film and soundtrack. It’s one of those quiet, easily missed details that make Aragorn feel even more authentic — the actor literally helped give the king his voice 🎶👑
