I would suggest a small variation taught to me by a 2 time Greco-Roman Olympian. Grab the normal way then rotate your hand down locking the elbow

its easy because the thumb is the weakest point. in the reverse grip, you'd just lower your arm down and rotate away instead of up 🤷♂️.
