There’s a lot of confusion on the sign name. He’s not given a new name. It’s a shortened nick name. Respectfully his hearing mom won’t give him a sign

My parents are deaf and I have never heard of this. I give all my friends their name sign and I’m not deaf. Not sure who told you that
