Interacting with your child in these formative months is incredibly important. It helps build their cognitive skills, enhances their language development, and strengthens our bond. Plus, it’s an awesome way to create lasting memories together! One of the greatest resources I’ve discovered is “My First Book of Baby Signs.” This book not only introduces us to essential signs but also turns story time into a captivating experience. The illustrations are vibrant, showing the actions in a way that is easy for us to learn together. I love how this book incorporates a variety of characters from different backgrounds and skin colors, reflecting the beautiful diversity of the world around us. This is especially meaningful for my baby, who is half Black and Filipino, as it encourages her to embrace her identity and the richness of her heritage. Teaching sign language to babies has so many benefits! It can reduce frustration by providing them with a means to express their needs and wants before they can verbalize them. It also encourages early communication skills, boosts their confidence, and fosters a love for language. I can’t wait to see how these early interactions will shape her understanding of the world and her ability to express herself.
