Have you checked a grocery store lately? 😅 That may not beat the cheapest chicken price but definitely the pasture raised chicken price.

Home raises versus grocery store is definitely not the same. Home raised you know what you feed your birds. The commercial birds are crammed in houses

look into bartering the slaughter of the chickens. Maybe a hunter or farmer will dress them out for a few birds. The cost would be way less.
