The DIY mask I keep coming back to when I want my hair to look extra smooth, soft and shiny 😂🌿✨ I call it my “keratin” mask because of how my hair looks afterward, but just to be clear: there’s no actual keratin in it! What you’ll need: 🌿 ½ aloe vera leaf (gel only) 🌱 3 tbsp flaxseeds 💧 1½–2 cups water ✨ 2 tbsp jojoba oil 🍇 1 tsp grapeseed oil How I make it: The night before, I stand the aloe leaf in a cup of water and leave it overnight to help drain the yellow latex. The next day, I simmer the flaxseeds in the water over medium heat for about 8–10 minutes, until it starts to thicken into a gel. Strain it while it’s still warm, then blend the flaxseed gel with the fresh aloe gel and both oils until smooth. Why I love these ingredients: Aloe helps my hair feel hydrated and soft. Flaxseed gel gives it that smooth, shiny finish and helps with the appearance of frizz. The jojoba and grapeseed oils add even more softness and shine without making my hair feel too heavy. 🤌🏽✨ I apply the mask to damp hair from roots to ends, leave it on for 30–45 minutes, then shampoo thoroughly (I wash twice), condition and style as usual. My hair feels SO soft afterward and looks smooth and shiny with way less frizz. 🤍 And yes, consistency matters! The results you see come from using it consistently and following a good hair care routine. It’s not an overnight miracle,nothing is!
