To create more sleeping spaces, I visited a junkyard and found old steel bars of the perfect size, spending just 20 yuan. After marking the wall and drilling holes, I hammered the steel bars into place and set up cat baskets, securing them with cable ties. The wall of cat nests is sturdy enough to hold even our 10-kilogram Dundan. The "Sky-reaching Tree" cat nest I previously made serves as an ideal ladder for them to climb. I also bought fabric to make small mats, stuffing them with pearl cotton for extra warmth. The shop owner, upon hearing that I was making mats for stray cats, kindly gave me a 30-yuan discount. Now, the kittens have cozy, elevated nests where they can stay warm and indulge their love for climbing high places. Watching these stray cats find comfort in their new homes fills me with joy. Northern winters are harsh, especially for strays, and many don't survive the cold season despite their efforts to grow strong.
