My dad was heartbroken when I explained how I get that sound with a delay. He thought I was playing all those notes. He was so disappointed.

sounds good! do you know if there was someone before Edge with a similar guitar setup? to my knowledge all the shoegazey stuff came afterwards

You try the edge sounds until Achtung Baby… otherwise you need different guitars. Maybe you should choose 2 delays, no reverb, less distortion

I can get pretty close using my Peavey 15 Watt Amp. I just have to kick the delay up a good bit along with a clean distortion sound.

there's a really good boss katana patch online for U2 Bad that nails this effect (just tweak the delays for the tempo of other songs)

I remember Edge splits the sound in two lines than uses a delay each one with different params.
