Lol I’m no plumber but I’m pretty sure u should clean and ream old pipes, especially when u got O rings that can be damaged by sharp edges.😅

I always clean and polish (with steel wool) the pipes before joining. you don't want anything to degrade the o-ring over time. only takes a minute
