we do this often. we did a laser alignment on a 1500 horsepower air compressor motor, lots of fun to move 😂

Cylindrical alignment was done by a dial gauge on the shaft and calculations for shim ,this is too simple and pipefitter here as well.

we use a very similar tool when aligning our compressed air motors. 8,000 cfm/2500hp.

Iv been through the precision alignment class it’s easier and faster to use a straight edge on most love joy couplers hate the laser
