Anyone who has hung doors before knows that the hinge screws protrude thru the jamb… not a good place for shims

a far easier way to hang flat jamb doors is to case hinge side of door jamb, then hang in opening nailing thru casting, then shim & case other side.

I recently bought this same door. Everything is perfect but when we went to paint it white it came out a little textured did this happen to you too?

if it can be avoided you shouldn't shim on the hinge side. why would you do that before even dry fitting the door?

Brad nails only? Quick and easy, but that's not built to last. I suggest you use some screws at least on the hinge side to secure that frame.
