“A desperate moment in which he quite literally risked everything to get away from those holding him captive.” A kidnap victim jumped out of a first-floor window into a tree in a desperate bid to escape his captors. The victim, who has not been named, was lured to a property in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, on 4 July last year and subjected to abuse and humiliation by Brad’Lee Ranyard, Nathan Gladwell, Jackson Nicholson, Craig Ranyard and Danielle Thompson who recorded it on their phones. The victim was then forced into the back of a pickup truck and taken to another property in Lincoln where he was also held against his will. In CCTV footage released by Lincolnshire Police, the man is seen leaping out of a window from a house on Portland Street, using a tree to break his fall. The man is then seen running down the street as a police car approaches and he gets in, telling officers he needs help. Following the man’s escape, two of the suspects were seen leaving the flat before returning with a duffle bag. They then left again in a pickup truck parked nearby. Armed police stopped the vehicle and arrested them. Three other suspects were arrested later that evening at an address in Market Rasen. The men were sentenced to between three- and nine-years jail and handed indefinite restraining orders preventing them from contacting the victim or members of his family at Lincoln Crown Court on 28 August. The court was told the victim had been subjected to the ordeal following the breakdown of a previous relationship.
