Tam :
I’m convinced fine dining is just preparation of rare meats…and at times abusive ways

I would definitely try it as long as I was sure that it was ethically produced. How do you go about finding out if it is or not?

there is no ethical meat consumption under capitalism. this is no worse than grocery store beef. there’s no point being uppity about food choices!

I have mixed feelings about this. Ethically or not, you’re still killing the creature. I see the controversy.

This is how veterinarians feed sick birds. It is not inherently cruel

I just don’t understand how a “flavor” is used to justify abuse?

I have mixed feelings. For most US produced foie gras, the ducks have more space to move around than the average factory farmed chicken, with the 1/3)

I’ve had it a few times in France. Aside from the abuse, it’s absolutely delicious.

typically... no they are ALWAYS force fed. There is no way to make this ethically, these birds physically can't eat the amount of food needed..

I’m definitely not taking the handlers side, but I cannot imagine how devastating it would be to force feed geese 😔 poor employee

This is one man who makes ethical foie gras and he won’t even sell it to kitchens or stores. You can’t use one man as an ethical source
