Try ghost shrimp. Get a dozen at your LFS and watch her hunt them. Also thaw out the frozen cubes before dropping in the tank as well

so you have a common pleco which is a scavenger so yes it's natural that he would eat meat. but they get up to 2 feet long so I highly recommend--

I kept a pea puffer and had good results using tiny live snails. The puffer loves to “hunt” them, circling the shell to find the best angle of attack

I've seen another person on tactic that has one of those fish. He hand feeds his with tweezers. Seems like a very spoiled type of fish lol.

I feed my puffers frozen and they usually eat from the cube but they will poke around all day and eat off the bottom!
