You almost got this correct.

Great visual aid for that explanation. Can you make one explaining why not to bond ground and grounded at points after first means of disconnect?

Talk about sub panels next and why we separate the neutral and ground

So why does the ground need to… ground to a rod outside if the “power” is going back to the source?

user7716622879682 :
wrong! ground needs to be separate from neutral otherwise earth wires would be live.

I'm stupid... cause I didn't understand how that explains anything. if all you need is a complete circuit, why not use the neutral in place of ground

Nice to finally see someone who knows the difference between a neutral and a ground!!! Thank you.

Question, if the power passes though the house and back to the pole. Are we getting charged for the amount of electric that passed though. Not used?

Can you also explain why we do not bond the neutral to ground in sub panels?

Roy Lemons :
then explain how the rest of the world does it without grounding the neutral? the breaker doesn't sense anything, it overheats. it's because we groun

Ok, u ready for this? It has been deemed a bonded neutral with a relationship to ground is a safer system.

Nice video. I challenge you to make one on why we don’t bond at subpanels.

This is incorrect, if hot shorts to a good ground there b sufficient current flu to trip breaker even w/o a neutral, that’s y there r ground rods

this might not be the case! because even in that case live wire has an indirect path to transmitter. the current flows to ground by ground wiring &👇

breaker will still trip if over current

I work with 480 wye systems, I’ve had electricians bond ground to a neutral at the panel and call it 480 wye, when the feed is actually 480 delta.
