I can ride about 10 miles in 1.5 hours on any of my horses at a gait (trot, but comfy) they’re endurance though.

Tbh I highly recommend that if you’re going to be writing horses, look around you and find a barn you can take a lesson at, or even a trail ride

We go through a lot of muddy terrain. It takes time to get them to a point where they can maintain longer distances.
