It doesn’t that bc the temperature is still hot so the burn keeps getting worse, it’s why it’s recommended to run your hand under cold water after 🙂

Your spinal cord controls reflexes so the 1st one is your spinal cord recognizing hot and the 2nd is when your brain realizes you're getting burned
