On Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at approximately 1:46 a.m., I was in the area of University Avenue and 12th Street. I observed an Orange Dodge Charger traveling southbound on University. After observing the temporary license plate displayed on the vehicle, I became suspicious the license plate was fake, as no silver sticker was on the temporary tag as required.
I conducted an enforcement stop on the vehicle at University and 32nd Street. After the vehicle came to a stop, I observed the license plate (Arkansas: DA881688) to have a printed expiration date of April 2024; however, a NCIC query showed an expiration of August 2023. I observed the vehicle come to a stop and the driver shift the vehicle into park. I exited my patrol unit and approached the vehicle on the passenger side. As I approached the passenger side rear door, I observed the driver of the vehicle shift into drive and begin to accelerate away from the traffic stop. I observed the passenger as a slim build white male, with a white tee shirt and a hat. The driver was a slim build darker complected individual. No other
identifying information was seen for the driver of the vehicle. I reentered my patrol unit and advised Troop A Communications that I would be in pursuit of the vehicle. The pursuit continued onto Colonel Glenn before turning onto W 36th Street. Speeds reached approximately 115 miles per hour with minimum traffic
in the area. The pursuit continued across John Barrow Road and into the residential area off of W 36th Street. At numerous times during the pursuit, the suspect vehicle turned all lights off while continuing to flee.
I lost sight of the vehicle in the area of Elam Drive and W 32nd Street. I discontinued my pursuit of the vehicle on John Barrow, but shortly after located the vehicle, unoccupied at the intersection of W 36th Street and Malloy Drive. Officers with the Little
Rock Police Department saturated the area, while Officers with the North Little Rock Police Department responded and a K9 track was attempted with negative result. The vehicle was towed by Metro Towing, with a hold placed on the vehicle until the driver could be identified.
