Why dont u use hemp for threads? Im a plumber in germany and we hardly use it cause hemp is just more reliable

Pipe threads are self sealing but require a lubricant. Ptfe helps lubricate and fill any voids to create a deal without galling the threads.

After a while, you might need to change something and the tape will make it easy to disassemble.

Yup, Teflon tape basically provides a thin lubricating film..which is advantageous mostly on tapered pipe fittings😌
