Friends join in and mock them in the name of jokes. Later when the child begins to question the parents to disagree or to do something different from what they expect the parent says you are cursed. You will go to hell. Your children will treat you the way you have treated me. Then the cycle of endless questions begins. When will you get married. When will you have children. How many children do you have. Have your children married yet. When will you take another wife. If the woman and man separate the woman is asked why were you divorced. What did you do wrong. Why couldn’t you keep your husband. If you choose not to marry they say you are getting old. Who will take care of you later. You will be a disgrace. All of this is done through fear and control. Our society has not yet learned how to communicate kindly or to understand one another. People do not even listen to their own souls. They are always watching through the eyes of others living by how others see them. Our society lacks understanding of the self and of emotions. There are not even enough words for a person to truly express how they feel. In our community most people do not listen to their own mind or heart. They listen to those around them and to how they are perceived. Those who live freely are isolated. They are told you are mad. You have abandoned our culture. Because free people make society uncomfortable. They show that no one is forced to be the same or live in the same way. They prove that a person can grow and evolve. But most people are afraid of change. So they use fear to control everyone and draw invisible boundaries around others to comfort themselves. To prove that the way they live or have always lived is not an illusion. But the truth is they have lived in a world that was never fully real. Even within themselves they cannot tell the truth.
