if you put grease around the base of the bleeder at the threads it keeps the tiny bubbles out, air will suck through the threads and fool you

My brakes just got mushy after a trip up Mary's Peak. Never changed brake fluid, assuming that's the issue.

also, Bleed the brake furthest away from your master (where the fluid goes) first so you eliminate any air bubbles
