as soon as you put something heavy the mud will crack slightly. don't put heavy items on this. it happened to me

So I am not a fan of shelf’s in the kitchen sure it looks great however the more flat services up high will just hold grease and dirt.

this is a good option if the wall is already open. what we do is buy lengths of 1/2” smooth steel rod drill a deep hole in the stud and insert rod.

Why not use a floating shelf bracket backplate and drill into the wood itself. Much easier and all on studs as well
