you should do a sump instead for a sw tank its more helpfull than a cannister and u can add a protein skimmer and more etc in a sump.

if you plan on keeping corals you’ll probably need to upgrade the lights, but regardless get a flow maker! one with a wave setting preferably!

the canister filters are doable. but more work. you can get a sump setup in there and a have a skimmer and a Refugium going. nutrient control is key.
