To avoid all the dust I have a long wire brush and run the vacuum with an attachment at the same time. I do this 3 times a year.

Refrigeration mechanic’s assistant here - its not actually that easy to damage the coils, they’re copper tubes surrounded with aluminium fins (1/2)
