They can make dishwashers completely silent. But people weren’t sure if it was working and broke it prying it open so they made them *a little* noisy

They do the same with electric cars. They add a noise, especially at lower speeds, as people are too used to hearing a car they don't pay attention

i am a highschool autobody major, part of the reason for this is so that if someone turns their turning signal on accidently it will notify them pt1/2

That mechanism is called a relay. The mechanical relay has been replaced with electronic relays which don't make noise.
