Note to everyone: most doors are hollow. If you cut too high you will lose structural stability. Be careful. Op did it right. Only cut a small amount

Definitely wouldn’t recommend, there’s only a small layer of wood at the bottom of most doors, removing it would increase the risk of breaking it
