Black paint definitely has some green tones in it, at least I always see green tones in black paint,I try and get ones that are blue black

My guess is, people think blue is in black from seeing highlights in Clark Kent’s and Veronica lodge’s hair in comic books.

Darkening yellow is problematic to the eye as is lightening red with it becoming “pink” that’s part of why we read a dark shade of yellow as green.

an actual black color does not exist, "Black" is just that which dont reflect light to us, So most of our "blacks" are just very dark blue.

Cheap tattoo inks also have a green base but even with blue base blacks, you can’t just put yellow by it without it looking green.

okay my guess is because the cones in our eyes are red green and blue, and there’s no yellow which would probably make it pretty hard to see-
