@lindsaythomasjr: Check yourself thoroughly every time you come in from the woods to locate and remove ticks. In most cases, they have to be *attached* to you for several hours to a day or more to transmit pathogens. For Lyme disease, it takes 24 to 48 hours. So remove them early!
