Things I’d never do again as a med student… read below for what TO DO instead!👇🏼 #fyp #medstudent #medschool #medicalstudent #premed #studytips #studyhacks #usmle 1️⃣Tirelessly copying down notes verbatim (passive learning) ➡️ research has shown active styles of learning are WAY more effective (I.e. question banks, create your own flow charts/mind maps, develop summaries) 2️⃣Sacrificing your physical health for study ➡️ I know post people think of it this way: “If I allocate time for the gym this will take valuable time away from my study.” I see it differently. I genuinely feel as though my mental capacity/focus is 10x better when I incorporate physical activity into my routine. So really, it’s a productive use of my time! And if you’re really strapped for time, like during exams for instance, listen to a podcast or do flashcards between sets! NO EXCUSES :) 3️⃣ Study using resources that don’t match your learning style ➡️ guys I’m not just talking about my guide, but for me personally I have structured the content in a way that makes it very easy to understand complex concepts and have included my best memory tricks to improve retention… just like you’ve seen in all my videos! So for me and visual learners alike, you’ll love this style! But in essence, don’t go overwhelming yourself with 20 different resources, find a few that work for your learning style and stick with those!
