they is a petition on change.org to get the law changed just search Make it the law to stop and report hitting a cat under the road traffic act 1988.

My mum hit a dog when it shot out the road and ran off and when she reported it to the police they said it wasnt necessary to report it to them 😅

its like this because it’s common for cats to live outside their fences… they free roam, whereas dogs don’t… so more cats on the road
