LETS CHAT POST SHOW FEELS OR POST EXTREME CUT FEELS. Whether you are competing in a body building show or just FOR LIFE. we need to talk about the aftermath of extreme dieting and being in a deficit. One thing that was so so so hard for me to realize is that I COULD NOT HEALTHILY MAINTAIN MY STAGE WEIGHT. I fought back with my coach. I wanted to keep calories low and was terrified to “grow” I will often say bodybuilding healed me because it taught me I can slowly reverse diet. Keep my body fat lower but within a healthy range and build muscle while still maintaining a good physique and staying lean! It is amazing and empowering to do something hard. And I will forever be proud of the girl in the first video and I KNOW I will compete again. But with a much better understanding this time. Why reverse dieting is so important and may be for you? - after staying in a deficit for too long your metabolic rate will slow down. Causing your body to get used to your caloric intake/ possibly gain weight. Your body will eventually fight back as your metabolism is probably not working as it should be. - hormone health. I didn’t realize how important this was to me until the older i got. Eating low calories for an extended period of time along with extreme exercise + low fat diet will affect your hormones. Making sure you’re getting proper nutrients after an extreme thought, and proper fats in your diet is so important. This helped my hormones so much. - it’s important to know the scale will probably go up 💗 but in most cases it may need to and it’s OKAY 💗 Coming from me. This was very hard for me to except 😭 I wanted to stay that lean year round. Seeing my body change was HARD. but looking back at the videos… I needed it. I LOVE having an “off season”. I like the challenge of growing. I love being able to be more flexible and eating more nutrient dense food. I saw myself gain more muscle, keep my body fat at a healthy range, and become more confident - this does NOT MEAN you have to be eating in a surplus of calories. A lot of people get this mistaken… for a long time I went from eating 1200 cal to 1800 calories and maintained there for a while. When I started to feel more comfortable with eating more food, and gaining more muscle. I started slowly adding more food until I got into the 2000s. My body adapted very quickly and well. 💗 with this being said. I think it is so amazing to have goals… I know that I will step on the stage again and have to go to extremes… But I know that I will do it in a much healthier way this time! My mindset is totally different. I know that reversing, having an off-season, and making sure I’m taking care of my body and hormones is more important than staying stage lean year round. 🤟🏽 if any of you are struggling with coming out of your deficit, or any sort of disordered eating. Please know that you are not alone and don’t ever be afraid to ask for help. 🤟🏽 Outfit - @DFYNE code-JORRY #fitnessmotivation #Fitness #motivation #explorepage #fyp #beforeandafter #trending #healing #wellness
