So I struggled for years…. Years, probably about 15 years, of just absolutely not liking myself, and hating is probably a better term. I struggled, I didn’t like to be alone or doing nothing because my brain just absolutely beat itself up. We would never surround ourselves (willingly) around a person who was always so mean to us, and that’s why I always avoided activities of just me, myself, and I. My brain was so mean to me, so on the flipside I loved partaking in self deprecating poisoning behavior so I never had to actually just be with myself. 🍺 🍷 And why PTSD was not something I would wish on anyone, it gave me the opportunity to start over. To finally got to stare at myself and learn to coexist. I got to pull apart all those words I constantly said to myself and heal. I am thankful I can now actually really likemyself and my personality. Gardening and my mental health journey have gone hand in hand, and I think it’s amazing to draw the alignments between the two. Letting parts grow, knowing when to deadhead, saying goodbye in a frost, focusing on deep roots, or when to know when to provide nourishment. It’s amazing both the flowers and my soul need the same things. I hope if you can relate to this post in anyway, you deserve to treat yourself better. We were moulded to think that way about ourselves. There is change, there is hope, and there can be growth 🌸 #compassacres #flowersmakemehappy #MentalHealthAwareness #mentalhealthmatters #ptsd #ptsdrecovery #ptsdsurvivor #gardenlove #thereishope
