Can we reverse the roles? Like if a woman was trapped and trying to get away-how would she go about it

Mogadishu, Somalia – A 27-year-old Somali woman has come forward with a harrowing account of abuse and violence inflicted by her husband shortly after her return to Somalia from the Netherlands. The woman, whose identity is withheld for safety reasons, reported that her husband violently assaulted her, causing severe injuries to her face and body. “He beat me mercilessly,” she said. “I could barely recognize myself in the mirror. The bruises and scars tell only part of the story—the emotional trauma runs much deeper.” She also described being subjected to an extreme violation of her bodily autonomy, an act she characterized as deeply degrading and traumatic. The abuse has left her in a fragile mental and physical state, fearing for her life and safety. Her story sheds light on the silent epidemic of gender-based violence affecting women who return to countries with weak or poorly enforced protections for victims. While she once lived in the Netherlands—where legal systems support and protect women’s rights—she now finds herself in a situation where justice seems distant and uncertain. Women’s rights activists have called for immediate investigation and protection for the survivor. “This is not just one case,” said a local advocate. “This is a reflection of a wider issue. We must ensure that survivors are heard, believed, and protected.” The victim is currently seeking urgent medical treatment, legal assistance, and safety from further harm. Her courage in speaking out reflects a plea for justice—not only for herself, but for many women facing similar abuse in silence. you must share.. #abuse #justiceforsomaliwomen #CapCut
