I was horrified to learn that elephants who have already spent a lifetime performing for humans are now being used as props at Myakka Elephant Ranch. Elephants are sensitive, highly intelligent animals who need to roam, forage, socialize, and play on their own terms. Please send Patty, Suzy, Baba, Margaret, Libby, and Cameron Lee to an accredited sanctuary that can give them the opportunity to do these things and provide them with expert care. They need help, not more horrific circus tours and thousands of people touching them and taking pictures!!

It’s not too late for the Barreda family, which runs the roadside zoo, to give the elephants the rest and relaxation they deserve by retiring them to an accredited sanctuary. Please do what’s right. 💔
