I hardly am ever hitting my 5iron into a green unless it’s a par 4..I’m more likely to make a better score laying up and hitting a wedge then a 5

The main reason I don't hit my long irons well anymore is that I've replaced them all with hybrids.

Another thing I found that helped, I was standing too far away from the ball. Moved closer, and hitting it much more pure.
