To me, Maroon is less saturated, more brown undertones. Burgundy has rich purple undertones.

I think they’re a really similar deep red shade but burgundy is more warm toned with some brown added and maroon is more cool toned with purple added

Maroon is a rich red with brown undertones. Where Burgundy while still a rich shade of red has more of a purple or violet undertone.

They look very similar but Maroon is made by mixing brown and red. And then Burgandy is made by mixing purple and red. So maroon is a little darker.
