It was Katakyie Kwame Baffoe IV, Nkoranzamanhene, who sought permission through the Akyeame for Agonahene to take the oath. Agonahene and Nkoranzahene both belong to the Aseneɛ family and are members of the same Adonten division (fekuo). Their shared lineage and traditional bond explain the prominent role played by Nkoranza throughout the proceedings. During the ceremony, Otumfuo further reminded Asanteman of another remarkable tradition. He declared that, apart from himself, only four chiefs in the entire kingdom have the customary authority to counsel Agonahene. Nkoranzamanhene is one of those four, highlighting the exceptional status and historic relationship between the Nkoranza Stool and the Agona Stool. Akosa Teaches Nkoranza is also renowned for its rich spiritual heritage and powerful traditional deities, including Ntoa (at Sessiman and Droman), Bediatuo of Akuma, Dam, Kankamea, Kranka Afia, Brekune, Atia Mframa, Tom Kramo, and several others that continue to hold an important place in the traditional history of the area.
