We are from Southern Ohio but visited Port Clinton a few years ago. Looked like something out of the plagues of Egypt 😂

stay away from cedar point during may fly season, Escpecially at night, got one stuck in my eye on the millennium coaster. few years ago lol

They live up to 2 days and they are harmless. They’re about the most useless insect ever and they are a pain in the ass to clean up lol

They breed in the water, out on the lake. The brown patches are them. 🤢 they have no mouths and die within 24 hours. Vacuum them up on your boat!

We were at put in bay one year and every morning the rental would come leaf blow them so we could leave the house. Piles of them. They live 24hrs

We spray peppermint around our door so we can get in and out without them bugging us. They’re really bad this year but so important for our Great Lake

I remember a year they had to use snow plows on the draw bridge because they were so bad.

I live in Cleveland. but when I lived in lakewood a couple years ago they would completely cover my house. I couldn't even get in out my house 😅

they are harmless....they don't bite or sting...they are attracted to light at night

some essential oils will keep them away from your person like a mosquito repellant but usually isnt necessary.

They are pretty much born from the lake they live in the mud they hatch at come on land and live for 24 hours
